Pilgrim
Lutheran Church has sometimes been referred to as the church with
the three white crosses on the front. There are 3 churches between
the intersection at Upper Sherman Avenue and Mohawk Road East and we
are the last church on the right hand side when heading south on
Upper Sherman Avenue.

If you are travelling from the south
- from Rymal and Upper Sherman intersection proceed north 1 km till
you reach Upper Sherman and Stone Church. Proceed through the
intersection another kilometre when you will be at the intersection
of Upper Sherman and Limeridge Road. Proceed through this
intersection 2/10 th’s of a kilometre at which time you will see the
church on you left hand side (West) 1054 Upper Sherman Ave.
If you are travelling from the north
from Concession Street (Juravinski Hospital area) proceed south 1
km till you reach Upper Sherman and Fennell, you will have travelled
through 3 stoplights, at Crockett, Queensdale and Brucedale.
Proceed through the intersection at Fennell still heading south
through the stoplight at Franklin until you reach Mohawk Avenue. You
will proceed 7/10 th’s of kilometre at which time you will see the
church on your right hand side (West). Pilgrim Lutheran Church is
the third church on your right hand side. From the intersection at
Mohawk you will have gone through 1 stoplight at Southampton.
If you are catching the HSR (Hamilton
Street Railway) from the downtown area you will take Bus # 24 from
the McNab Terminal (Platform # 2). This bus leaves that location at
9:15 am, 9:45 am and 10:15 am on a Sunday morning in order to be at
the church in time for the 11:00 am service. The bus proceeds east
on Main Street and then south on James Street. Bus # 24 proceeds
south past St. Joseph’s Hospital and up the Jolley Cut access to
Concession Street and then east on Concession to Upper Sherman
Avenue. At Upper Sherman the bus heads south on Upper Sherman
until you reach bus stop # 2211 Upper Sherman opposite Lapp Street.
This bus stop is directly in front of the church. The approximate
time from the turn onto Upper Sherman to the church is about 7 to 10
minutes. Bus # 24 can be boarded at any bus stop along the way,
James Street South, Concession Street and Upper Sherman Avenue. The
three departure times will get you to the church at 9:34 am, 10:04
am and 10:34 am respectively arriving in enough time for the 11:00
am service. (Please note during the month of July and August the
service starts at 10:00 am instead of 11:00 am). The bus stop for
the northbound route back down into the city is directly across the
street at Upper Sherman and Lapp. HSR bus schedules are located in
the information rack in the foyer of the church.
